The company was established in 2004 by Gerard Martin and Simon Meredith who together have over 50 years experience in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors of the construction industry.

As individuals we have earned an excellent reputation across the industry for our integrity, reliability and commitment.

This reputation extends to all of the clients, consultants, subcontractors and industry peers we have worked with over the past decade.

As working directors we are both directly involved in the onsite daily operations of the business and this “hands on” approach ensures high performance on all projects.

We have successfully managed complex works in a variety of locations and environments.  Through careful planning and coordination, combined with a highly proactive approach, we will ensure that your project is delivered within the required programme.

Martin Meredith Construction Pty Ltd has been established with the purpose of providing a complete and professional service to the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors of the industry.

The business consists of two experienced Directors, Gerard Martin and Simon Meredith, who are both actively involved in all of the daily operations and take personal responsibility for all of the onsite management required to consistently deliver. The Commercial and Administrative duties associated with the business are completed by Catherine Sartor who performs the role of Finance Manager. Please find following brief resumes of the Directors detailing their experience.

GERARD MARTIN

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Gerard commenced his building cadetship with in 1995 with Baulderstone Hornibrook Pty Ltd. Working in the areas of estimating & administration before being based in the role of project coordination & eventually project management. Gerard has successfully managed a number of complex large scale projects in Queensland & Western Australia. In 2004, Gerard established Martin Meredith Pty Ltd with the aim of providing a tier-1 management approach to smaller scale projects. Since 2004, he has delivered projects across all sectors of the industry & his long-term relationship with corporate & government clients is attribute to his unique approach. Gerard has an excellent reputation across the industry for his integrity, reliability & commitment.

SIMON MEREDITH

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Simon commenced his carpentry apprenticeship in 1998 with Baulderstone Hornibrook Pty Ltd. After progression through his apprenticeship he quickly rose to a site management position. Simon’s vast knowledge & experience gained on large scale projects provided an excellent foundation for the establishment of Martin Meredith Construction Pty Ltd in 2004. Since that time Simon has successfully managed significant projects across various sectors within the industry. From highly complex to simple tasks, Simon’s experience & determination always ensures a quality outcome for our clients. Simon is very highly regarded by subcontractors, consultants & clients across the industry.

Quality Management

A system of Quality Management will be incorporated into your project to ensure we consistently deliver a high quality product.

This system has been developed to identify specific aspects of the AS 9001 system which provide the essential controls necessary to provide a high degree of product quality.  These extracts are known as the Protocol System.

This system forms the core of essential quality functions carried out on all projects.  It is a simple “hands on” approach to getting the quality right and has been used very successfully on projects as a stand alone system.

Key aspects of the system are:

  • Establishing schedules of submissions;
  • Establishing quality standards through prototyping of first works;
  • Inspection of works;
  • Use of a nonconformance reporting system;
  • Use of RTI, RFI, document control and sample control systems; and
  • Involvement by all project parties in the quality process.

It provides a short form quality control system geared specifically to meet your needs as the client.

Our Safety Management System aims directly at providing this safe work environment.

Responsibility for Health and Safety

The most important ingredient in accident prevention is the desire and action of each worker to willingly adopt safe work methods and comply with all safety requirements.

Safety requires a cooperative effort and is everybody’s business.

As Company Directors we are determined to prevent accidents and personal injury by maintaining a very high standard of safety at all of our workplaces.

Both directly and through our subcontractors, we will provide the environment, equipment, systems and personnel to promote a healthy and accident free workplace.

Existing Facilities

Many of our clients will also have policies and procedures relating to workplace health and safety in their own business.  Existing procedures or requirements specific to the industry or unique work environment, will be respected and incorporated into our safe systems of work.

We have demonstrated our ability and commitment through successfully managing complex works in a variety of locations and environments.  This has required extensive planning to ensure the safety of other employees, contractors, customers, visitors and the general public.

Through teamwork, planning and construction methodology the work was able to be successfully completed with minimal disruption to the client’s activities.
