UQ – Gordon Greenwood Level 6 Office Refurbishment.

This project incorporates the refurbishment of half of Level 6 for Strategic Program Office (SPO). The new modern layout allows for a significant increase in the density of people catered for in the space. Upgrade of all building services including the construction of a new Mechanical plantroom was required to serve the new area. The new tenancy is being fully furnished as part of the building contract.

UQ Hartley Teakle Office refurbishment (Level 6).

The project involved the refurbishment of half of level 6 in the Hartley Teakle Building. The scope of works involved the replacement of carpets and painting throughout with a reasonably significant upgrade of power and data. The works were undertaken whilst the balance of the floor and building remained operational.

    UQ Mansergh Shaw Amenities Upgrade L2,3,4).

    The project involved the upgrade of toilet amenities on level all high voltage power infrastructure across the Longpocket campus. Construction of 4 substations and 2 new switchrooms. Installation of a new ring main involving the installation of conduits via directional boring and open excavation. The works were undertaken whilst the campus remained operational.

    UQ Qld Brain Institute (Ritchie Building) – Level 3 Office Fit out and Level 4 Small animal facility

    St Lucia, Queensland

    The project involved:

    Level 4 – Construction of a small facility requiring the full upgrade of all building services. The external windows were all removed and replaced with new glazing to rectify a significant defect with water ingress.

    Level 3 – The existing Level was gutted and a new office fit out was completed to accommodate Qld Brain Institute Researchers and staff. The works were undertaken whilst the building remained operational.

    Shamir Australia Pty Ltd Production Facility Expansion and Upgrade

    Lytton, Queensland

    The project involved the upgrade and expansion of the existing production facility. Shamir leased the tenancy next door and undertook a redesign of the Layout and expansion to accommodate new state of the art equipment. The works were undertaken whilst the existing business remained fully operational.

    The project included a significant upgrade to the cleanroom HVAC system.The upgrade consisted of the installation of terminal HEPA to all cleanrooms on Level 3 of the existing building. remained operational.

    The project involved construction of a high level pharmaceutical grade clean room laboratory. The works were performed whilst the existing facility remained operational incorporating a significant amount of hazardous area electrical installations. The project included the procurement from International supplies with high pressure on delivery to meet critical lead times.

    The project involved the construction of a laboratory in an existing warehouse. The project involved a very challenging design and construction programme. The install involved the installation of 12 new fume cupboards and extensive hazardous area design.

    The project involved the refurbishment of an existing workshop into the new Australian Transformer Research Centre. The works involved the installation of a large transformer, fire rated separation and bunding of TX. Works were completed in an operational building at the University of Queensland Longpocket Campus.

    Building the Education Revolution.(BER)

    Brisbane, Queensland

    The construction of Multi Purpose Halls, Resource Buildings and Libraries within operational Primary Schools.

    • Project Cost – The value of the works over a larger number of schools was approximately $10,000,000. The works involved mostly client generated variations as schools added work to expend the allocated budgets. Builder generated variations were minor in value.
    • Duration of the project – 4 major schools were completed in the first 12 months of the BER program to the required programs established by Watpac (Managing Contractor) The second 12 months consisted of completing a significant number of post main contractor small works contracts as schools fully expended budgets.

    Project experience while working for Baulderstone Hornibrook.

    Construction of the largest commercial office tower to be built in Perth since the early 90’s.  The building consists of 29 levels with 23 office floors containing 46,000 square metres of lettable space rising from a podium with retail space, conference facilities and an auditorium.

    Borallon Correctional Centre

    Borallon, Queensland

    Project experience while working for Baulderstone Hornibrook.

    The centre expansion and upgrade comprised two separate medium security accommodation blocks providing 153 additional beds, a new commercial kitchen and the refurbishment of the existing kitchen, three new prisoner movement control areas, two new industrial buildings incorporating staff and prisoner amenities, a new program / educational area and associated amenities as well as a new secure property store. All works were completed in a medium security operational facility that accommodated 500 inmates.
